Ok, this probably isnt about what u all think it is. I was talking to Art and 3-D monitors came up and I decided I just have to try and get one! First thing I googled it and came up with the amazing Johnny Lee:

http://blogs.zdnet.com/Ou/?p=976

Really really amazing imo. Great parallax and u can actually "move" into the screen so things go past you! I dont have any Wii remotes around, so can u guys try it out for me? Roll Eyes  The software stuffs is on Lee's site at the bottom.

Next goodie in ascending price I found was some goggles that claim to make any 3d rendered graphic into 3d found here:
http://edimensional.com/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=29

I think it works off the interlacing of a CRT or alternate frames of an LCD, but I'm not sure.

Lastly, the big bucks. Looks like an LCD with overlapping screen and polarixzed glasses to distinguish 1 eye from the other.

If you guys got any experience with these, or something better, drop a line. I'm making my xmas list early!

Down but not out, I say.  Captain Tickles Pirate Palooza, headed by Kahmal and backed up by many members of the Celestial Tourney, runs an alliance that has an opening or two.  They'd love to have FW in the group and maybe get some GvG going from time to time and get FW on the ladder.  Also, it would be nice to keep the guild around for when GW2 comes out: A lot of us are interested in bringing the old FW name back to glory.

I realize that most of the people who were in FW have left the game or moved on to other guilds.  Even so, if Post is willing, we'd like to get a GL account that would be on more often and able to guest people into the guild, or invite members from time to time, join alliances, etc.

To that end, I recommend and suggest re-inviting my wife Liz's account: Laria Weris, and making her GL - with, of course, the approval of FW and its members, however few they be right now.  We would be able to keep the guild available at a moment's notice to new members and old, and work towards a brighter future in the months to come.  I put too much time love into this guild to see it sit so long.

Please, if you have any questions, put them here, or PM me to discuss further.  Thanks!!

Hey gang!  I'm trying to brush up on my E3 news, and I have some regarding GW:EN and GW2:

One or more dwarves will be availible as heroes in GW:EN, and the race will be playable in GW2.  Confirmed. <3  More as I get it.

We will also get to find out a little more about Orr.

Edit:

This even more just in, from the official wiki.  Looks like whoever gave that presentation today was smoking crack.

During the E3 presentations in Los Angeles, a lot of great information was shared, but a few errors were made regarding features and elements of Guild Wars: Eye of the North and Guild Wars 2.

We know that players love new information about the game, but we want to make sure that what you have is as accurate as possible. Therefore, here are some clarifications for you:

        * Dwarves are not a playable race in Guild Wars 2.

        * The Tarnished Coast is located on the coastal area south of the Maguuma Jungle; it is not at all connected with the Kingdom of Orr, which sank into the sea long ago. The idea that Orr may someday rise from the depths is interesting, but nothing like that happens in GW:EN.

        * There are no pit traps in GW:EN.

        * Players can unlock all missions and all areas, regardless of their reputation with the other races.

        * There are many ways to improve your reputation with the Norn, Dwarves, Ebon Vanguard, and Asura. Mini-games are one way to gain reputation, but there are several additional ways for you to gain reputation.

        * You do not control golems directly, but you can direct them to some degree.

I wrote this!  It's been posted at Guru, GWO, and Crossing Tyria.  Tell your friends!  Attend the event!  Wheeeee~

One and all, we would like to announce the Mesmer Highland Games, 2007!  The Mesmer Highland Games is a yearly tradition where we celebrate the spirit of the Scots with competitions and carousing.  This year's event will take place Saturday, July 7, at 9 PM GMT in the Zaishen Challenge, International District 1.

We will be holding the same events as last year:

Highland King and Queen**
Mesmer Arts Competition
Mesmer Sync Dancing
Best Dressed Mesmer

There is no entrance fee - that idea was tossed around last year and fell through.  This year we don't even have to consider it: we have already generated a ton of support (but any donations you might have would still be greatly appreciated!)

One important thing to note is that the Highland King and Queen now comes with a caveat.  Those who won the last King and Queen positions will not be allowed to enter this contest. This is so that others might also have a chance at being honored with the title.

So, what can you expect from the Highland Games as an attendant?  Well, you can participate in any of the events, but should you not feel inclined to participate, there'll be plenty of drinking (if donations permit), dancing, and general merrymaking!

Dress: Come in your best Mesmery attire!  However, because this is more Scottish themed, we'd like to encourage attendants to give the Scots a salute by wearing blue and white! Maybe you have an all blue or an all white outfit, or you want to mix 'em - whatever works!

So, in summation:

2007 Mesmer Highland Games

    * Saturday, July 7th
    * 9pm GMT, 2pm Pacific, 5pm Eastern, 7am (Sunday morning) in Brisbane, Australia
    * Please, try to wear blue and/or white! (Not required for attendance, though)
    * Contests!
    * Carousing, dancing, merriment!

I should discuss the Art Contest: the deadline for art is actually going to be July 22 - this is so artists can come to the games and be inspired there.  The one condition is that the art be Highland Games-themed.  The judges will then gather all the entries and award fabulous prizes (to be announced) to the best of the best!

Mesmer Art Contests: There will be several categories from which to win awards. The categories are Pictures, Video, Music, and Poetry. The Music and Poetry competitions may be merged depending on the number of competitors. As you can probably assume, a number of judges will view the entires submitted and judge the submissions based on certain criteria, listed in the rules. For pictures, photoshopping and any other manipulation of the image is allowed. It can even be hand-drawn artwork, not just screenshots. We're really looking for mesmer fan art in the Pictures competition.

Rules:
Must not be a judge.
Artwork must relate to the Highland games

Judging Criteria:
Creativity
Originality
Style
Relevance

We will announce at the event how we would prefer you to submit your artwork, so if you are interested in submitting, please attend!

Any comments, questions, suggestions are very, very welcome! We will try to answer them here as best as we can.  If you'd like, you can contact either judge or the event host in-game:

Your faithful judges are Benjamin Naoran (myself) and Kedlai Everwinter.  The true host is the great Mog Ruith of Armagh.  We will be happy to assist you!  There is also a thread in a Mesmer forum on Guild Wars Online that might provide some more information in a pinch.  Thanks again, and we hope to see you there!

Bellevue, WA., July 2, 2007—NCsoft® and ArenaNet® announced that Guild Wars: Eye of the NorthTM, the first ever expansion to the subscription-free Guild Wars® franchise of fantasy online role-playing games, will be released to the public on August 31, 2007. The Guild Wars: Eye of the North expansion will be available for an expected price of $39.99 in North America and €34.99 in Europe, as well as through the NCsoft store at PlayNC.com and in the Guild Wars in-game store.

Guild Wars: Eye of the North will continue the no subscription fee model pioneered by ArenaNet, and will provide new content accessible to players who own both the expansion and any one of the three previously released Guild Wars campaigns (Guild Wars, FactionsTM, or NightfallTM).

The Guild Wars franchise has sold more than 3.5 million units since the release of the original Guild Wars campaign, in 2005, making it one of the most popular online role-playing games of all time.

Guild Wars: Eye of the North follows up on events told in the original Guild Wars campaign, and is set in previously unexplored areas of the continent of Tyria. The expansion contains a host of new features that will appeal directly to veteran Guild Wars players, including 18 large, multi-level dungeons, 150 new skills across all ten Guild Wars professions, ten new Heroes, 40 new armor sets, and more items, weapons, and titles. Additionally, through the innovative Hall of Monuments, Guild Wars: Eye of the North creates a path for players to carry the legacy of their characters into the upcoming Guild Wars 2. The Hall of Monuments will allow players to preserve their accomplishments and titles from Guild Wars, Factions, and Nightfall, which can then be claimed in Guild Wars 2.

"Guild Wars has one of the most committed and loyal player bases I've ever seen, and Guild Wars: Eye of the North is our way of delivering prized content to veteran players and creating a link to the future of Guild Wars," said Jeff Strain, co-founder of ArenaNet.

For more information on the Guild Wars franchise, go to: www.GuildWars.com. The award-winning Guild Wars campaigns can be purchased from retailers or downloaded from the PlayNC store at https://secure.plaync.com/cgi-bin/Store.pl.
